Your Weekly Dose of Stoopid: Cancel SPLIT

There’s a petition circulating demanding that Netflix remove M. Night Shyamalan’s SPLIT from its playlist. Why? Because it inaccurately depicts people who suffer from dissociative identity disorder? Wait, you mean people with DID don’t actually develop superpowers when they shift personalities?!?! Cry me a freakin’ river. Cancel Culture is so idiotic. It started out as one thing, but like all things, got hijacked by the extremist nutcases. Uh-oh! I used the word “nutcases”! That’s derogatory against people with mental illness! They may start a petition wanting to cancel me! Again I say, cry me a freakin’ river.

I have struggled with mental illness my entire life, and I’ve damn sure got the medical bills to prove it. There have been times when I was at my lowest, unmedicated point where I genuinely was afraid that I might be losing my sanity. I’ve sat with a loaded pistol pressed against my temple, safety off, putting pressure on the trigger and asking myself if I really wanted to squeeze just a little bit harder. I’m one of those people the SJWs *think* they’re advocating for, think they’re defending, and I’m telling them all to STFU. Only fools would think for a minute that SPLIT is supposed to depict reality. It’s a fantasy. It’s make-believe. It’s only offensive to people who go around looking for reasons to get offended. This latter, in my book, ought to be considered a mental illness in its own right.
