Wizards vs. Werewolves

Hey there werewolf fans of all ages, the Disney channel is gearing up for a big episode for the Emmy Award winning comedy series Wizards of Waverly Place. The upcoming episode “Wizards vs. Werewolves” will premiere Friday, January 22 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT) and is said to be one big fantastic episode.

The huge one hour long episode will feature Alex and her new boyfriend Mason, we also find out what happened to Justin’s missing girlfriend Juliet. The story follows the young wizards Alex and Max as they attempt to prevent werewolves from taking over Waverly Place. Meanwhile, Justin searches for his lost vampire girlfriend, Juliet, when she goes missing after being turned into a mummy’s minion.

Disney is planning on this episode to be so big and popular that they will present a “creature creator” application that invites users to upload and morph their own photo into the assorted magical character seen in the episode. These beasties include a wizard, vampire, werewolf and mummy. You can find the applications here.

I know, this isn’t usually the ferocious werewolf post we usually make here, but the kiddies are already stirring a big buzz over the episode. Now while I may be a grown adult on the outside, I’m a big kid on the inside and I totally admit to loving The Wizards of Waverly Place, I think the show is cute and fun.

If you are new to the show I’ll give you a quick summary – The show follows a typical New York family, the Russos, but they’re only normal on the surface. The truth is that the three children; Justin, Alex and Max are all wizards in training. They need to train to become better wizards all while keeping their secret from the normal world. However, there is a twist; only one child from each wizard family is allowed to keep his or her powers. When they all turn 18 the Russo children will have a family competition between siblings to decide who gets to keep their powers.
