Win a Copy of the Game ‘Nightfall’

Werewolf fans rejoice! I’ve got some kickass news for all of you – there’s a new deckbuilding game (think Magic: The Gathering) on the way and it features not only vampires and ghouls, but ferocious werewolves as well. The best part is that you can enter in to win a free copy!

“The sun has retreated from the earth. It has been a little over a week since the last hint of light shone over the horizon, and the chaos has begun. People fear for their existence, wondering how they will adapt to this new dark earth.

Until they came.

The creatures of nightmare — vampires, werewolves, and ghouls — have begun to appear throughout the world, and they show no sign of hesitation in claiming the dark world as their own!

Nightfall is the all-new deckbuilding game from Alderac Entertainment Group.  Designed by David Gregg and releasing in early 2011, Nightfall puts players in control of minions of the night, fighting one another for control of an Earth shrouded in eternal night. Werewolves, vampires, ghouls, and those who fight them see no need to hide from the public, waging their war in the streets.  Featuring direct head-to-head game play, card drafting, and the unique “chain” mechanic, Nightfall is unlike any other deckbuilding game on the market.

If you’re interested in Nightfall then I highly suggest checking out the official website. Over the next few weeks more information will be posted on the site, including a preview of the rulebook, art, cards, and much more.

“The First 100 Days” Contest

To kick off Nightfall, AEG is doing a big giveaway! During The First 100 Days, players will have the opportunity to submit their name and contact information to AEG for a chance to win a copy of the game.

Every day from January 1 through April 10 one name will be drawn to receive a free preview set of Nightfall in a special collector’s box!  Fill in your information HERE for your chance to win!

Personally, I am pretty excited for Nightfall. I’ve never played a deckbuilding game, but now I am thinking about starting. The artwork is incredible and the game focuses on all of my biggest loves, which = pure win. What do you guys think? Do you plan on entering the contest? Let us know in a comment below.

  1. That could be interesting…. I may pass on this one as I’m tired of trying to keep up with collectible card games only to find if it wasn’t successful, you’re stuck with a bunch of cards or the game is successful and there’s a drive to constantly keep new sets coming and pushing them out.

As an added tidbit, did you ever cover that White Wolf Games at one point had a Rage card game based on it’s Werewolf The Apocalypse rpg?

      1. The card game is still around, as the fan/player base is still kicking around for it. We release fan-made sets that you can print out for free, as well as play the game with the new cards on Lackey. And yes, White Wolf lets us make the cards. Can’t say the same for Rage Across Las Vegas, sadly, as it’s in another company’s hands.
The Yahoo mailing list was a long stand-by that’s still around, but there’s now a forum for it.

  2. Just to make it clear, this is not a collectible game. This is a single-purchase game. “Deck-Building” is a new style of board game where you build the deck as you play from a common pool of cards. By drafting the cards each game, you change up the variety and the game play each time. No collecting necessary!
