Will BLOOD have Bite?

The forthcoming film BLOOD “follows Jess (Michelle Monaghan of TRUE DETECTIVE and MESSIAH, as well as the perhaps unwise upcoming remake of THE CRAFT), a separated mother and nurse who moves with her daughter and young son Owen back into her old family farmhouse. Shortly after settling in, Owen is bitten by the family dog, resulting in a mysterious infection from the bite. When Jess discovers a disturbing cure, she is tested to the extent will she go to keep her child alive.”

Hmmm. Now that sounds interesting? One has to wonder at the nature of the affliction that will assail the child. It can’t just be rabies, as there is nothing mysterious about rabies. And what is this “disturbing” cure that is mentioned? Color me intrigued.

The film is directed by the guy who did SESSION 9 and THE MACHINIST, Brad Anderson, so we know he can deliver a quality Horror flick.

Can a bite from a dog bequeath lycanthropy? It’s believed that rabies helped to inspire the werewolf legend, so it’s not like there’s no precedent. One can scarce imagine the horror that people would have experienced in bygone ages, having no understanding of disease, when a family member, after being bitten by an infected animals, began to exhibit the symptoms of rabies.

I’m kinda excited over this one.
