What is Your Favorite Werewolf Movie?

There are countless werewolf movies out there, everything from badass blockbusters to cheesy B-movies. Werewolf films even cover every genre – comedy, horror, romance, drama… etc. There are loads of awesome werewolf movies, but which one is your ultimate favorite? Out of all of the many werewolf movies available which one do you, my wonderful Readers, love the most?

Is your favorite a classic like the original 1941 Wolf Man? A horror like The Howling or Dog Soldiers? Or is it a romance like Twilight or Blood and Chocolate? Let us know in a comment below what your favorite werewolf movie is!

As for my favorite werewolf movie, well, it took a while to nail one down. There are a few that I really enjoy, but to be totally honest, my favorite is Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  This was the prequel story that traced the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. Back in the Dark Ages, a Lycan named Lucian rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the wicked vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret vampire lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Vampire army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.

I love this movie for many reasons – it had a great story of survival and freedom, it had lots of action and kickass effects, and it even had some romance in it. I thought the movie rocked, although I am one of the few to think so.

But enough about me. What is your favorite werewolf movie and why?

  1. In order of favorites: American Werewolf in London, 1941 Wolfman, 2010 Wolfman, Dog Soldiers, Gingersnaps, silver bullet, Bad Moon, for family friendly favorites i would say, teen wolf and monster squad. I really enjoyed the underworld movies i think they struck a wonderful balance between practical effects and CGI.

  2. I have to say this is a tough one but I love the remake of the original Wolf Man, Dog Soldiers, American Werewolf in London And GingerSnaps (all of them)

  3. my fav is an american werewolf in paris and my fav werewolf is JACOB BLACK!!!!!!! i also like the underworld rise of the lycans.

  4. really hard for to pick one fav i love american werewolf in london, ginger snaps, the wolfman both versions, howling….but many people seem to overlook the movie Wolf with jack nicholson its awesome i think

  5. The Underworld series entirely, Van Helsing was pretty good, I loved Dog Soldiers, but the way I think is “favorite movies that feature werewolves” rather than “werewolf movies that are favorite” (it’s like a disorder, I think) so I really liked The Prisoner of Azkaban because it was a really good movie and it had a nice werewolf character. Far from being a werewolf movie, but I still like it on my list of good movies featuring werewolves
