Entertainment news, that is. Although certainly if anything werewolf-related pops up in the news it’s entertaining for me, and for you good folks, too, I expect. (Speaking of, we could use another appearance, Beast of Bray Road, Michigan Dogman, or Old Stinker. We miss you guys!) But these particular tidbits are all related to movies, directly or indirectly.
We’ll start with the one I’m most excited about, this new AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON action figure from NECA. Is that thing (pictured) not freakin’ gorgeous?! I can’t wait till this bad puppy goes on sale. Damn, NECA makes some beautiful toys!
Now let’s talk movies. The new feminist lycanthropic flick BLOODTHIRSTY, featuring a female lead (Lauren Beatty), written by female screenwriters (Wendy Hill-Tout and her daughter, musician Lowell), and boasting of a female director (Amelia Moses), will be available for livestreaming (and might pop up in a few theaters—here’s hoping!) on April 23.
The spiel: “[V]egan singer-songwriter Grey (Lauren Beatty) goes to work on her second album with notorious music producer Vaughn Daniels (Greg Bryk). But as the album progresses, she starts to transform into a powerful beast with a thirst for blood, meat and the hunt.” As one typically does.
