Werewolves Attack in New ‘Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones’ Trailer

mortal_instruments_poster officialWerewolves come to the rescue in the all new Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones trailer! Yay! The film, based on the first book in the bestselling series by Cassandra Clare, comes to theaters August 23. This new trailer shows fans the first look at the werewolves in the film! It’s fantastic! Check it out.

Movie description:

“Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.”

We finally get a look at the werewolves! And before you hybrid fans rant about the werewolves looking like wolves, just stop and go over HERE. The movie is following the books, and in the books the werewolves aren’t monsters, but a pack. Anyway, I LOVED the trailer. But it looks like they may be cramming all three books into one movie. Hmmm… not sure how I feel about that.

What do you think of the new trailer? Have any of you read the books? I am excited about the movie. While I loved the story in the first three books of the series (the only books that matter in my opinion) I didn’t like how the author portrayed her characters. She rocked the story, but failed when it came to the characters. I think the actors in the film will be able to pull off what Clare couldn’t. So I am geeked about the movie, I think it has the potential to be better than the book (gasp!)

  1. I understand why people get pissy about it. The whole point of making werewolves look more human is to differentiate them from real wolves. I’ll understand if they’d rather they have them be big ass wolves, but werewolves looking more human is something more appealing to it visually. It’s less elegance, more savage, you know?

  2. Awesome – can’t wait!

Though cramming 3 books into one movie? Er…doesn’t sound like a good idea to me. Though perhaps they did that because they weren’t sure how big the book following is (unlike LOTR)…

I haven’t read the books, though. As long as it doesn’t seem rushed…

  3. Looks like a fun ride. As long as it isn’t as girly as the novel, of which I was only able to stomach up to the point where she witnessed the good guys off a demon at a teen club. Can’t possibly suck worse than Twilight and it’s sequels. I’m in.
