Werewolf Yaoi Exists! …seriously

Yes, it’s true, werewolf yaoi actually exists! All of the pervy werewolf fans rejoice!  Ahaha! Ahem, seriously though, I can see this making quite a few girls (and maybe some guys) very happy. Now, before I reveal the naughty book, let me first explain what yaoi is since it’s not exactly common knowledge.

Yaoi, also known as “boys love,” is a popular Japanese term used to describe female-oriented books that focus on homoerotic or homoromantic male relationships. Meaning, it’s naughty stories full of nothing but guy on guy action. You may have stumbled across it before – pretty anime boys kissing each other. Yeah, that’s yaoi. It’s usually written by women and is most popular with women. But while yaoi is directed towards the ladies who like reading about gay men, there are also male yaoi fans too.

And that’s the quick summary of yaoi. I should also add that yaoi can be very dirty and that it’s never appropriate for younger readers. There are usually loads of very detailed sex scenes, so yeah, keep away from the kiddies.

Anyway, while looking at werewolf comic books and manga I discovered some werewolf yaoi – The Way To Heaven by Yamimaru Enjin.

“Moriya had completely given up on boxing after a gruesome match that also inspired Watase to quit the yakuza after watching. After a traffic accident, the two strangers meet by chance at “ground zero,” the gap between life and death. A strange woman mysteriously appears to the men and explains how to come back to life. As a result of this tragic experience, Moriya’s attraction to the kind Watase intensifies. But back in the living a different Watase comes out and begins show his true colors!”

I know, there is no mention of werewolves in the official book description, but they are in the book. According to a few reviews I have read, one of the main characters gets transformed into a werewolf and the other is turned into a vampire. They both have to do an assortment if dirty deeds to survive. I won’t go into detail, but I hear it’s wonderfully sexy. As an added bonus, this manga has fantastic artwork, so every page will be filled with glorious hotness. Woo!

Have any of you read this? If so, what did you think? I’ve never read yaoi manga before, and I’m not sure if I’ll start now, although this one has me curious.

  1. I’ve never read it, but this actually sounds interesting! Though, really, I’m not surprised, given the popularity of supernatural manga in general!
