That score for Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN is just amazing, like everything else about that movie. Michael Giacchino served as the composer, and he certainly proved his mettle as a musician. He’s never directed anything before, though. Directing and composing music are way different things. Still, we’ve seen neophyte directors, folks with no experience at all, who took on a project and just excelled at it, like Tom Ford and NOCTURNAL ANIMALS, Frank Miller with SIN CITY, or even Rob Zombie after he learned everything *not* to do with his debut feature HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. It may work out just fine, then, that Giacchino will direct the upcoming WEREWOLF BY NIGHT Halloween special for Disney+, due out later this year.
Gael Garcia Bernal will be playing the lead, though we don’t know yet which of the two characters to go by the name in the comics he will be portraying. (He’s of a different ethnicity for one and too old for the other. Go figure.) Laura Donnelly will allegedly be portraying VAMPIRE BY NIGHT, though we can’t say whether she’ll be the love interest, a friend, or the antagonist. Maybe all three.
Even though Moon Knight made his debut in the WEREWOLF BY NIGHT comic series, don’t expect to see him cameo in this special. I mean, he might, but don’t go in expecting it. That way if he shows up it’ll be a nice surprise, but you won’t be disappointed if he doesn’t.

Have you seen the new Werewolf flick called Wolf? It’s Romans verses werewolves.
I must check that out!
