I first saw this in a video on social media. Actually my lovely better half saw it, then sent me the link. Werewolf babies. They’re a thing now. This article calls them “the weirdest craze you’ll ever see”, but that’s hogwash. This might qualify as weird, but if one of these adorable little werewolf babies, or Werepups as they are called, are the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen, then you’ve lived a really sheltered life. Like, really, really sheltered. Hell, these aren’t even the weirdest thing I’ve seen TODAY.
Werepups are the creation of artist Asia Eriksen, who says: “Growing up I thought the coolest thing in the world would be to have a pet baby werewolf…Something cute like a puppy that could grow up into a 10ft monster that could kill you.” But if you raised it yourself and treated it well, wouldn’t it be less likely to eat you? Does the werewolf nature override the natural affection a baby would feel for its parent? Maybe it’s just as well that these werewolf babies are going to STAY babies.
To buy one will cost you a pretty penny, and you’ll have to wait a while to get it. Ms. Erikson has a lot of Werepups on backorder and, as she makes each one by hand, it takes some time.
