Village of the Cannibals
I’d call bullshit on this one, but it’s been reported by credible news sources, which means there’s at least a 50% chance that it’s true. In the town of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, four men, Lindokuhle Masondo, Sthembiso Sithole, Lungisani Magubane, and Nino Mbatha, have been arrested after one of them–this article does not make it clear which one, exactly–walked into a police station and admitted that he was tired “tired of eating human flesh.” Police might have dismissed him as crazy or plastered had it not been for the human hand and the human leg he carried with him.
After the arrests, a town meeting was held, where some 300 people admitted to having eaten human flesh after it was given to them by Mbatha, who is a witchdoctor. They also admitted to robbing graves at Mbatha’s instruction. Said the presiding councilman: “We don’t know what to do or who to trust. People we know and live with have now confessed to [this]…This has happened within our community. Families, people we know and live with have now confessed to [it].” Well, I’d advise them not to put that on their brochures. They might get guys like ME to come there, tourists of the weird, but it probably wouldn’t be good for business, overall.
