U.S. Army Werewolf Sniper Manual

As a huge book junkie I spend a good chunk of my time surfing Amazon for books on all sorts of thing, like werewolves (obviously). On my most recent search I came across something that made me raise an eyebrow – U.S. Army Werewolf Sniper Manual by the Department of the Army.

The official U.S. Army field manual—with 100+ illustrations of
werewolf tracking and sniping techniques and equipment

This illustrated field manual, prepared by the Department of the Army, provides information needed to train and equip werewolf snipers and to aid them in their werewolf extermination missions and operations.

The werewolf sniper has special abilities, training, and equipment. His job is to deliver highly accurate rifle fire against lycanthropic enemy targets. Werewolf sniping requires knowledge of lycanthrope tracking and the development of basic infantry skills to a high degree of perfection. A werewolf sniper’s training incorporates a wide variety of subjects designed to increase his effectiveness and to ensure his survival in werewolf territory during full moons. The U.S. Army Werewolf Sniper Manual covers:

* Personnel Selection Criteria * Werewolf Tracking/Countertracking * Werewolf Sniper and Observer Responsibilities * Team Firing Techniques * Werewolf M24 Sniper Weapon System * Werewolf Ammunition * Werewolf Sniper Sighting Devices * Other Equipment * Werewolf Marksmanship and Ballistics * Effects of Weather * Engagement of Moving Werewolf Targets * Camouflage * Movement * Werewolf Sniper Positions * Werewolf Observation * Target Detection and Selection * Range Estimation * Information Records * Mission Preparation (including Moon Cycle Calendar) * Operations: Insertion, Execution, Extraction, and Recovery  * Werewolf Sniper Sustainment Training

At the bottom of the page it says “This book was written by order of the Secretary of the Army.” Haha. Of course it was.

My curiosity got the best of me and I added this book to my Amazon wish list, I couldn’t help it.

  1. I’d have been a bit more inclined to get the book if it had been more “about werewolves” than, as it seems, “how to kill werewolves”.

  2. Further to the previous message… The writers have previously written a book about zombie survival combat skills. That particular book’s reviews at Amazon have been quite poor. I’d hazard a guess that this book is an attempt to cash in on books like “The Werewolf’s Guide to Life”.

    1. Or maybe it’s an entertaining book that’s meant to be funny and enjoyable. There can be more than one kind of book, it doesn’t mean that they’re copying others.

  4. Go to YouTube and look up dogman, also, subscrbe to Dogman Encounter with Vic Condiff. You’ll really become a believer and probably even understand just how Hollywood may have come up with the descriptions.
