Have you ever seen that bumper sticker that says “Hunting is only a sport if you arm the animals”? I haven’t seen one in years, but I do remember seeing it in my youth. I always agreed with the sentiment, though. While I acknowledge that sometimes—sometimes—hunting can serve a function—like in my home state of Alabama, where people have killed off all the natural predators that once kept the deer population in check, and now said population tends to balloon, sometimes, and this leads to disease outbreaks, and deer hunting season can help to keep the numbers down and thus prevent disease—I find it distasteful under the best of circumstances. And trophy hunting is downright despicable.
In ANONYMOUS ANIMALS, they’ve armed the animals. The shoe is on the other foot, and it is the animals doing the hunting. Quothe the official synopsis: “The balance of power between man and animal has changed.
