If you have been following the current season of True Blood then you know Sookie has her hands full dealing with amnesiac Eric Northman, and in the process, falling for him. But according to Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide, a romance between him and Sookie may be on the way.
“Well, they’re teasing it a bit,” Joe said in an interview. “Obviously my character’s very close and she (Sookie) has stuff going on with Eric right now, but as you can see from the last episode, the ghost of her grandmother channeled through this medium and told her to not give her heart to the guy she may be falling in love with,” Joe continued. “So obviously, the door’s still open.”
A few episodes ago featured one of the best scenes of the season – when Alcide helped Sookie find Eric after he drank a fairy to death and went for a sunny swim. In the scene Joe stripped down to shift into his wolf form, which prompted the interviewer to ask Joe if werewolves wear underwear.
“We had long talks about whether werewolves wear underwear or not,” Joe laughed. “[In] our character research, we decided that, no, they don’t.”
“I was actually wearing what we refer to as ‘the sock’ there,” Joe added.
The Sock is was the men on True Blood and other shows and movies wear to protect their modesty, it covers their naughty bits. But apparently not everyone feels the need to cover up.
“Before I got on to the show, there were actually people on the show who didn’t wear the sock. But, I guess for health purposes we all have to wear the sock,” Joe said.
They then chatted about what it’s like working with real wolves on set, and it doesn’t sound all that enjoyable for Joe.
“Here’s the thing, when the wolf is present and they bring them out on big thick chains… My brother jokingly said he was gonna sneak into my trailer and switch out my sock for a sausage casing,” Joe laughed.
“But there’s literally a trainer standing in back of me, waving raw meat at this thing to get it to look at me… and I’m naked,” he added.
Hahaha, poor Joe.
What do you guys think of the current season of True Blood? Are you looking forward to more werewolf action?

If the werewolf action is like it was last season then i would rather watch paint dry.
I am disappointed in all these Vampire shows and films how they call this a “werewolves” because they are actually “shapeshifters” , specific to one animal, a werewolf is what you see in Van Helsing, not these modern jokes. And the fact that they play down the werewolf to that of a normal wolf is pathetic, in every tale of the vampire vs. werewolf, it was a fierce opponent to the Vampire and was feared by the vampire because it was it’s only enemy that was strong enough, fast enough and was able to kill it with a mere bite. How they have played the Werewolf down to a lap dog for vampires is really agitating for me.
The vampires vs witches storyline is EPIC and the Weres storlyline is F-ing boring. Alan Ball, and the writers, should stick with vampires and the witches; or spent some more time writing better storylines for the Weres.
