I was reading this here linked article about a man’s disappearance in the woods four years ago. Maybe it goes to show that I spend too much time researching things unexplained and of the paranormal variety, or that I’m all too aware of the phenomena of people disappearing in the woods without any credible explanation. It happens a lot more than most folks realize. Check out MISSING 411 or read some of the numerous books written on the subject if you don’t believe me. This case in particular might not have involved anything at all beyond the ken, but then again it might’ve.
From the linked article: “‘If only he had taken it [his GPS], we’d know where he is,’ [the missing man’s wife] said. Well, not necessarily. They might have found the GPS device but not the person carrying it. That sorta thing happens, too. “[He] was on a footpath that ran alongside a road…He’s an outdoorsman who knew the area and he knew [his son] was waiting for him. It doesn’t make any sense that he didn’t make it out that evening…I just find it strange that nothing of [his] was found…He had layers of clothing, a gun, bullets—yet, nothing was found?” Sure sounds like one of the “411” cases, as I’ve come to think of them.
