The Misadventures of ‘Bad Dog’

While scanning my Kindle Fire (my precioussss) for a comic to amuse me, I came across Bad Dog, a werewolf comic that looked and sounded so damn good I wanted to jump right into it! Sadly, the first issue wasn’t even available, because comiXology is a filthy tease. But, in spite not reading and reviewing Bad Dog, I am still giving the comic some love here. Bad Dog came out a few years back and has a handful of super spectacular reviews. It also sounds hilarious, and the artwork is incredible. Check out the details below:

“The acclaimed writer of Deadpool returns to his dark comedy, anti-hero roots with Bad Dog, channeling a lifetime of bad behavior into two misfit bounty hunters incapable of catching a break, let alone a criminal. Lou is a werewolf who despises people so much that he refuses to shift back into human form. Wendell is a vertically-challenged, gutter-mouthed ex-preacher with a hair-trigger temper. Two glorious bastards drinking their way across the American Nightmare, hunting down the dregs of humanity… to find themselves. (That is, if by “find themselves,” you mean drink, swear and generally make a mess of things.)”

Story: Joe Kelly
Art and Cover: Diego Greco

According to a review by IGN: “The term “breath of fresh air” gets thrown around a lot in comic book reviews, so I’m going to do my best to avoid using it while addressing Bad Dog #1. What this comic is is a breath of stale cigarette smoke, whiskey breath, dog urine and hangover all rolled into one. It’s an example of a brilliant and unique comic book voice combining with a artist capable of fully bringing his vision to life. …I can’t guarantee you’ll be cooler if you read this comic… but it certainly can’t hurt.”

It sounds awesome! I need to find a way to get my hands on this one.

Have any of you read Bad Dog? If so, what did you think?

  1. Bad Dog is a good series…but there was a HUGE wait for issues 3 and 4. I don’t know why it took so long. The ultra-horny cougar secretary always trying to seduce Dog was hilarious.
