The Grizzly Cometh!

A clip 40 years in the making! Or close enough!

I first saw the movie GRIZZLY when it was broadcast on network television around 1978 or so. I was just a wee thing, and the film, though edited to be broadcast on TV, scared the wee out of me. (The fact that I lived basically in the woods didn’t help, lemme tell ya, and that I grew up listening to the story of how my grandfather had encountered a bear tearing into our chicken coop in the backyard just a couple of years before I was born.) For some reason they retitled it KILLER GRIZZLY for its television broadcast, because for sure I wouldn’t have been able to figure out that the beast was a killer had they not done that, filled in the blanks for me.

I never knew there was supposed to have been a sequel to GRIZZLY until a year or so ago. Apparently they were all set to go and one of the producers took off with the film’s budget, or so the story goes. But all this time later, that sequel, GRIZZLY II: REVENGE, has been completed and is being released. I wait with bated breath—or should that be “baited” breath, considering—seeing it. Until that happens, here is an exclusive clip courtesy of the fine folks at Dread Central to tide us over. Check it out here.
