The Cabin in the Woods is out on Blu-ray & DVD and it has a Werewolf

So, it turns out that the recently released horror flick The Cabin in the Woods has a werewolf in it! Since I rarely ever watch movies (bad me) this is news to me and something to share for those of you who also didn’t know. Hurray for werewolf surprises! The movie is out now on DVD and Blu-ray and packed full of special features. Check out the details below.

A rambunctious group of five college friends steal away for a weekend of debauchery in an isolated country cabin, only to be attacked by horrific supernatural creatures in a night of endless terror and bloodshed. Sound familiar? Just wait. As the teens begin to exhibit standard horror movie behavior, a group of technicians in a control room are scrutinizing, and sometimes even controlling, every move the terrified kids make! With their efforts continually thwarted by the all powerful eye in the sky, do they have any chance of escape?”

Bonus Features:

  • Audio commentary with writer/director Drew Goddard and writer/producer Joss Whedon
  • We Are Not Who We Are: Making the Cabin in the Woods
  • The Secret Secret Stash:
  • The Sequel in the Woods
  • Marty’s Stash
  • Hi, My name is Joss and I’ll be your guide
  • Wonder-Con Q&A
  • An Army of Nightmares: Make-Up & Animatronic Effects
  • Primal Terror: Visual Effects

If you want even more info on the effects found in The Cabin in the Woods, check out this super long interview with Visual FX Supervisor David LeRoy Anderson. In it he talks about the werewolves.

“The people that were working on the Werewolf, it was Norman Cabrera and Matt Rose, and they’re legendary in this industry. He [Rose] just has such a passion about werewolves, the whole history of them, so there was no disputing he should be the man in charge of it.”

Sounds awesome to me. Anyone here a fan of the film? Let us know in a comment below.

  1. Lemme guess, there’s MAYBE 3 minutes of werewolves in this movie. If nothing is going on with werewolf novels or tv shows, it’s okay to not post anything for a while. We’ll understand. Sometimes you can do better by doing nothing.

    1. After the fifth season of True Blood filled with shitty Weres and, possibly, another season of vampire diaries with little to no werewolf story-lines, 3 minutes of werewolf bad-assery in Camp in the Woods is what we need. Sometimes, its better to show werewolves at their finest ( even if its just a little) than to show nothing.

  2. I saw this on the other day and every time i see it i say: “I WANNA SEE THAT SOOO BAD, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom (it takes forever to get her attention) mom! can we get that movie!?! PLEASE!?”
every time i see that trailer, lol
