The Area 51 Gate Three Incident

For what it’s worth, I don’t put much stock in this one. I think it’s a good story but that’s about it. That’s not to say I discount the whole Area 51 phenomenon. Much the opposite, in fact. But this particular story, involving an “escape” from the restricted government facility, or an attempted escape, has more in common with the shoot-em-up video game than with reality, I suspect. The story is allegedly supported by the book EXEMPT FROM DISCLOSURE by Robert Collins, a retired Air Force officer and alleged whistleblower.

Either an alien being housed (or held prisoner) at Area 51 attempted to escape, killed a security guard, and was then shot, wounded, and re-imprisoned, which is the first form of the story; or a genetic experiment, some kind of alien-hybrid beast, escaped into the surrounding desert and was then shot by a rancher. (Alternately the creature is still living, and is occasionally spotted by a resident of one of the nearby communities.) According to the second version of the story, the one wherein the creature was killed, it was dismissed by military personnel as a “deformed” cougar and was buried in an undisclosed location. This last makes me think of the bear-monster in ANNIHILATION—or the real-life deformed mountain lion killed in 2016 or 2017 in Idaho.
