On Fire: A Teen Wolf Novel by Nancy Holder
In Beacon Hills, a mountain lion is blamed for a spate of vicious attacks; Scott McCall wishes the cause was that simple. Unfortunately, hiding his werewolf identity, especially from Allison Argent, while fighting his need to shift, is only one problem. Keeping his mysterious, murderous Alpha off his back (literally), avoiding hunters, deciphering strange dreams about flames and impending doom . . . is really eating into lacrosse practice and hang-out time. So when Jackson Whittemore doesn’t show for his date with Lydia, Scott hopes that helping Allison track down their buddy will be simpler. Derek—whose hunger for vengeance blinds him to the dangers that lie in wait—and Stiles are also looking, but the worried teens’ search is leading right to the preserve from Scott’s nightmare. They aren’t the only ones in the woods, and their little trip starts looking less like a rescue mission and more like an elaborate trap—one that will force them to make the choice between killing and being killed…
Coming out July 17, 2012.

  1. These are all teen books and/or from the romance genre so it is unlikely I will bother with them.

    1. Then try this: Blood and Silver by James R. Tuck, coming August 7, 2012. Deacon Chalk is a bad-ass southerner who is on a crusade against vampires since he lost his wife and daughter to them, and along the way, runs into all manner of monster, some good, some that just plain need killing.

His latest adventure starts with him coming across a guy in a vacant lot beating the hell out of a bloodied dog. Deacon interferes, only to have the guy assume a massive man-lion form and try to kill him. Deacon barely fends off the werelion and his backup (2 other lycanthropes), and makes a getaway with the dog…which reveals itself to be a pregnant weredog. The lion swears that the fight isn’t over, and he WILL get his “property” back.

You can find the first chapter of this book in Tuck’s first Deacon Chalk novel “Blood and Bullets”, which was damn good. Action, vamp-killing, werespiders, and a cursed famous soldier are all in the mix NO romance. Vampires are monsters that need killing, not blood-sucking tragic, beautiful sex objects. If the previous novel and the chapter excerpt for this book are any indication, this book is gonna rock HARD.

Here’s something else I found that’s more along the lines of what werewolf fans are expecting from this site: a trailer from the Kismet Entertainment Group for Dog Soldiers: Red
