It became obvious to me some weeks ago that if I was going to salvage an enjoyable summer in the midst of the ‘Rona madness, it was going to have to become a summer of drive-in movies and roadtrips. I took just such a roadtrip this past weekend to several of the filming locations for the STRANGER THINGS television series. With apologies to that one dude who complains every time I write about STRANGER THINGS–sorry, dude–I hope you’ll all enjoy these photos half as much as I enjoyed driving around to take them.
Here is the Palace Arcade as it appeared in season two and as it appears now at its real home in Douglasville, Georgia.
Looking in the window, it appears that somebody is in the process of putting in a thrift store. Or maybe just using the place for storage. Note that the ceiling and the floor tiles are still painted from when it was the arcade.
Here’s Eleven and Benny at Benny’s Burgers from the first season. The waitresses were super-nice, and set up the table just as it was for me to take the photograph on the right. I had dinner at the restaurant, too. (And yes, I sat at that table.)
It’s called Tiffany’s Kitchen in our world and is located in Lithia Springs, Georgia. The food is delightful. For dessert, I had to order a waffle, in honor of Eleven.
Recognize this big rock from season one? It’s located behind the diner.
Stay tuned for more pictures from my trip right here on this site. Too many to put them all in one post!
Thank you. I am the owner of Tiffany’s Kitchen “Benny’s Burgers” you did good. Thank you.
You’re most welcome!
