Well, why not?
A better question would be, why is FROST BITE shooting for a summer 2021 release instead of waiting to release at Christmas? Especially since Director Airell Hayles said: “I love Christmas [H]orror movies, and to work with this cast on such a crazy story really is another nightmare come true…” Christmas Horror movies ought to be seen at Christmastime, Airell. You’re missing a golden opportunity, here. By releasing such a film at Christmas, you have a better chance at cementing its status as an annual favorite, the way I have to watch KRAMPUS every year now right along with Charlie Brown and Frosty. I mean, sure, DIE HARD didn’t open in December; it was a case of Christmas in July in 1988. But it’s had a hard slog to attain its Christmas cred.
FROST BITE poses the question: “What happens when Santa Claus turns into a werewolf on Christmas Eve?” The answer to that is, obviously, hijinks ensue. This should be a blast. FROST BITE stars Mark Arnold (the original TEEN WOLF), Emily Booth (GRINDHOUSE), Joe Bob Briggs, and my man Nicholas Vince, who played my favorite Cenobite, Chatterer, in HELLRAISER.
The poster for this one makes it look promising, and the premise sure as shootin’ has arrested my attention. Come on, Santa as a werewolf? How could it go wrong?
