I’m starting to suspect that the sadist David Lynch really is going to make us wait until the final episode of the season–we’re only five away (insert sadface emoji here)–to get Agent Cooper back, and to get the answers to what’s going on. Not that we’re going to get ALL the answers, but I expect the numerous major plot threads to all come together, as they are already starting to do, little by agonizing little. Like this week, we learned that Richard Horne is a part of the criminal gang we saw infiltrated by Doppel-Coop. (More on that in a second.) Alternately, we finally got to see Big Ed–and it would seem that, 25 years later, he is still pining after Norma. I noticed he was wearing a wedding ring, so we can infer that he’s still married to crazy Nadine. That’s sad. 25 years, Ed! Seeing Nadine seriously flirting with Dr. Amp this episode, maybe she’ll take the big step and finally leave Ed, as it seems obvious he’s never going to leave her.
Now, getting back to Doppel-Coop–holy shit! How badass is this guy? And how STRONG? That arm-wrestling scene was brutal! And he killed the big bald guy with one punch. Completely smashed his face in. This was the first time we’ve seen him really let loose, and it makes you realize the level of violence he’s capable of. He’s downright supervillain-y. If we get that final showdown, mano-a-mano, between Dopple-Coop and the real Cooper, it’s gonna be epic. If Coop can just get his senses back before then.
