Readying THE MUNSTERS

Work is well underway on Rob Zombie’s new movie adaptation of THE MUNSTERS, whether we like it or not. He’s building an exact reproduction of the Munsters’ residence at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Well, he’s not building it himself. He’s having it built. He’s even shared the blueprints with us and everything. Cool that he’s opting to have an actual house instead of just recreating it on a soundstage. Of course the house could just be a shell, and all the interiors will be filmed on a soundstage. Either way it seems he wants the movie, in visual terms at least, to be accurate to the TV series.

Mr. Zombie has also given us a sneak peek at Grandpa Munster’s hair.

And the costume designs for Herman and Lily.

Zombie sure seems excited for the project, which is good, as that means he might actually try. We know (*cough* HALLOWEEN II *cough*) the results when he just phones something in. Not that it’s a guarantee that the results will be good even if he does care and does try. Sometimes he just plain stumbles. But we can be cautiously optimistic at this point.
