The play simultaneously tells its story and undercuts it by parodying its own often-performed set pieces.
I never get to see plays; never been to Broadway, no ballets, and I only saw the Nutcracker once. Sigh. Which is why, People of Portland, –when Mystery of Irma Vep comes to your fair village in January, you must not miss it! It’s received rave reviews, –and sounds hilarious, –“Virginity is the balloon of the carnival of life. It vanishes with the first prick.” What’s not to love?
Oh and yeah, there are werewolves, –even a vampire, –and it pokes fun at the horror genre without being mean spirited or skeptical. The play can’t be missed, so be sure, someone, to see it, return, and tell us of its awesomeness!
