Plagiarism Suit Against STRANGER THINGS Dropped

It came down to the wire, but the lawsuit was dropped by the plaintiff just before the case went to trial. I suspect the complainant was just hanging in there until the last minute, hoping the studio would pay him off. This happens not infrequently. It can be quicker and easier, and thus cheaper in the long run, for a big studio to just pay someone off to get them to go away rather than go through some long protracted trial. I don’t blame the guy if that was his game plan. I probably would have done the same. But whatever the reason, the suit has been dropped. It is now official: the Duffer brothers, and only the Duffer brothers, created STRANGER THINGS.

All the kids from the series are doing quite well for themselves, but two of the group in particular are enjoying the fruits of success. Finn Wolfhard already played a big role in the remake of IT, and now is linked to the upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS sequel. Millie Bobby Brown, meanwhile, will shortly be appearing on the big screen in a little movie entitled GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS.

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, may not have a blockbuster movie coming up, but he does have something the other kids do not: there’s a Neca Chia Pet head of him. Really, which is cooler? (Okay, Godzilla is cooler, but still…)
