On Direwolves

Apparently *not* having any interest in GAME OF THRONES is a thing now? Like, it has become so fashionable as to be ridiculed on social media? Have you seen the memes, with a picture of Lena Headey, saying something along the lines of “two more weeks until people who don’t watch GAME OF THRONES have to tell us all that they don’t watch GAME OF THRONES”? Or the jokes about “an atheist, a vegan, and somebody who doesn’t watch GAME OF THRONES all walk into a bar. Which one of them tells you about it first?” Really, has *not* watching the show become as over (wrestling terminology) as watching the show, as the show itself? When did this happen? Is it like that whole hating Nickelback thing, something that happened when I wasn’t looking?

For the record, though, I don’t watch GAME OF THRONES. They apparently have ice zombies and dragons, which snags my attention, but I’d have to take a college course, watch 12,954 hours of previous shows, and read all 117 books in the series before I’d be able to know what’s going on, and that’s just too much of a commitment for me. So I’ll remain one of those who doesn’t watch the show.

As to what this has to do with werewolves? Direwolves! Should I capitalize that, capital D? Direwolves? I don’t watch the show so I wouldn’t know. In addition to ice zombies and dragons and Emilia Clarke naked a lot, the show also has Direwolves. I can’t tell you much about them, since I don’t watch the show, but you can read all about them here.

Should I tell you all now that I didn’t read the article?
