That’s right Dear Readers, as much as I love werewolves and other supernatural beasties I never watched a single episode of Being Human, the original or the remake. But a few nights ago, while sitting in front of the TV and scanning through hundreds of channels that mostly consisted of lame reality shows, I saw that episodes of the Being Human remake were on Demand, so I decided to give the show a shot. And… I am so in love! I sat on my ass and watched every episode back to back, and considering that I have the attention span of a six-year-old on caffeine pills, that says something awesome for the show.
If you’re new to the world of Being Human, let me fill you in. The show is about three twenty-somethings who share a house and try to live a normal life despite being a ghost, a werewolf, and a vampire. It shows how difficult it is being human, and gives watchers a new insight into the very different hardships each “monster” faces.
When I first started watching I assumed that Aiden, the vampire, would end up being my favorite character. I mean, he’s dark and gorgeous, full of angst and all that vampirey goodness. But instead, it was Josh the werewolf and Sally the ghost that really hooked me. Sally adds all sorts of mystery to the show, because you can’t help but wonder why she died, what new powers she’s going to learn, and of course, what is it that’s keeping her here. Josh on the other hand is just too adorable not to love. He’s this sweet and dorky guy with a ferocious beast living deep inside him. What’s not to like there? Plus he’s hot too, and instead of brooding all the time like Aiden, he’s the one that adds humor to the show in his own special anxious and restless way. Love!
Have any of you given the new Being Human a shot? If so, do you love it as much as I do?
