NECA-leka-high! The company known for its gorgeous sculpts on its heavily detailed, expensive but beautiful action figures—these are not your run-of-the-mill “toys” but specialty items for collectors, damn it! Which means they’re costly and spiffy toys!—is taking on the classic Universal Monsters. As part of the celebration of this most auspicious month, the company recently released some images for their forthcoming (early next year) figure of the Wolfman.
Says NECA: “For the 80th anniversary of Universal’s horror film classic, NECA is excited to reveal The Wolf Man [Edit: It should be “Wolfman”! One word!] in Ultimate action figure form! Starring Lon Chaney Jr., 1941’s The Wolf Man [Edit: see previous] is critically acclaimed for Chaney’s moving performance and the special effects. The sculpt captures the human and monster sides of this complicated character with interchangeable heads, hands, and lower legs, as well as black and white deco reflecting the look of the original film stock. The figure stands in 7” scale, features the authorized likeness of Lon Chaney Jr, and also includes wolf cane, animal trap and stand accessories.” And it will be available in both a colorized and a black-and-white version.
Look at that thing. The likeness to Lon Chaney Jr. is uncanny!
