werewolf, werewolves and lycans

There’s a werewolf in this one! A real, honest-to-goodness, bona fide werewolf! It only gets a little screen time, but still, we take our werewolves where we can get them, don’t we?

ANNABELLE COMES HOME received the lowest score of the three ANNABELLE movies from theater-goers, which is ironic (yet predictable) since it is the best of the three by far. It’s just plain FUN. The premise is NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM except set in the Warren’s basement, where they keep all the cursed and haunted items locked away, including the most dangerous of them all, Annabelle. As you can surmise, she tricks an unwary teen into letting her out and hijinks ensue. Fun, creepy hijinks. Including a werewolf.

I do have one little complaint. I don’t know if this had anything to do with the grade the movie received from audiences (and we should point out that even with the lowest audience score the film still earned a solid B) but there is absolutely no reason the movie should have been rated R. It is as PG-13 as you can get. Maybe some audience members wanted more sex, profanity, and bloodshed and felt mislead by the R rating. The film doesn’t need those things, though. It succeeds on good old-fashioned creepiness. If you haven’t hit the theater yet to catch this one, do so. Buy some popcorn and sit back for an enjoyable ride with everybody’s favorite demonic doll.
