Monsterkid Heaven

It isn’t just the place we can hopefully aspire to after we slip the mortal coils. Now it has a real physical location. The Long Island Monster Gallery is now open in—you guessed it—Long Island, New York!

So what is it? Well, “The Monster Gallery is Long Island’s newest and only gallery dedicated to the world of horror. Located in Mineola, this cinematic movie gallery features two floors of life size monster replicas handmade by artists around the world. Once you step inside, you will be immersed by theatrical sets, lighting and sound. Full scale monsters, vampires, werewolves, ghosts and more await those brave enough to come visit this gallery of nightmares! This is not a haunted house but an elaborate art gallery intended to preserve Hollywood’s most thrilling monster movies. The Long Island Monster Gallery is sure to provide a spooky evening for families and friends. For those of you horror collectors… the artwork is for sale!”

Unfortunately this mecca for the Horror geek is only open through October 31st. Balderdash! This should be a year-round exhibit!

Visit their official website here to see some photos of the models that will be on display. The artwork is incredible.
