Marvel Comics pay tribute to classic Monsters

When I was growing up, my life revolved around a few magical, transcendental things. Right at the top of that list: Monster movies and comicbooks. As an adult, little has changed. My life still revolves around a few things, and near the top of the list: Monster movies and comicbooks. This, then, is tailor-made for me. Primary Marvel superheroes are being turned into versions of the classic movie monsters. It’s only for a series of special covers, but that’s good enough for me. Check out that depiction of Wolverine as a werewolf (above)!

There’s way more, though. Black Widow gets transformed into a vampire, while Spider-Man becomes a vampire slayer. The Hulk is a mummy.

And while Man-Thing may be a Marvel-specific monster, it’s still cool to see him, or it, depicted as Iron Man-Thing. Or should we say that Iron Man is being depicted thusly? Which hero morphed into the other, here?

These are all going to be variant covers, so they’ll be even more collectible than they would have been anyway. You can expect to see them out in October, hopefully all in time for Halloween. Comic shipping schedules are notoriously unpredictable, so hoping is really all we can do—not that it matters when the comics arrive. It’s *always* Halloween for a Monsterkid!
