Locating Lonely, Lovely Lizardman Locations

Here is the map of all the Lizardman sightings from the late 80s, followed by photographs I took at as many of the actual locations as I could find.

The sightings.

We’ll start with the one I’m most proud of, the artesian well where George Holloman saw the creature in October 1987. The well is located close to the Scape Ore Bridge, but isn’t that easy to find. I enjoyed a drink from the well, as the water is crystal clear.

The remnants of Lizardman’s last meal? Located near the artesian well.

Scape Ore Bridge doesn’t look like a bridge until you’re up on it.

The view from under the bridge.

Scape Ore Swamp. As close as you can ever get to Lizardman without him jumping on the hood of your car.

The water is as black as coffee, yet its surface reflects as well as any mirror.

This map, on display at the South Carolina Cotton Museum, is proof that the swamp was formerly known as “Escaped Whore Swamp”.

The Lizardman Burger on the menu at Harry and Harry Too is not made from real Lizardman, but it’s so delicious that I wanted to take its picture anyway.
Bramlett Road, where two sightings took place, used to form a loop, curving back around to rejoin Brownstown Road.

Bramlett Road no longer loops.

The trail that used to lead to the Elmore Butterbean Shed.

This Dollar General today stands very near the location of Frank Mitchell’s private runway, where he saw Lizardman in 1988. I’m surprised they haven’t put up a Dollar General in the middle of Scape Ore Swamp.

The town welcome sign, as it *should* appear.

He’s still out there!!!
