LEGLESS CORPSE FILM FESTIVAL Part One

If you’ve been following our sister sites vampires.com and zombies.org, you’ve already heard about the LEGLESS CORPSE FILM FESTIVAL that I attended this past weekend (April 23rd and 24th) at the Somerville Playhouse in northern Alabama. I saw some great films, some good ones, and one trainwreck from hell. (More on that one in a following article.) First, though, I should talk about the event itself, as I have yet to do so elsewhere. I’ve talked plenty about the films, but little about the organizers of the festival, and these guys deserve the credit.

“These guys” are Chad Armstrong from the Huntsville area and Andrew Thompson from Birmingham. I met them, along with Andrew’s wife, Shannon, and some of their actors and tech crew before the festival proper got underway. They told me they had spent some 4 months getting everything together for the event and selecting which films to show. Among the latter were actresses Ashley Coughlin (the short film MONSTER IN THE CLOSET, TV series NASVILLE and HOMICIDE HUNTER), Rhiana Howell (SON OF SOMERSET FILES, upcoming DEIMOSIMINE), actor Randy Razook (DEIMOSIMINE) and make-up artist Ginger Vandiver (also working on DEIMOSIMINE). It was cool to meet people as passionate about their Horror as I am, people of like minds. As alike as any such disturbed psyches can get, anyway.
