I must confess, I’m something of a snob about certain things. Fan fiction, for example. Never cared for it. I read “fan fiction” and I immediately think “rank amateur”. If a person had any ability he’d be writing real stuff, not fake fluff. Sorry/not sorry, but that’s my knee-jerk reaction. That goes for fan-made movies, too. Haven’t watched any of ‘em. Don’t care to watch any of ‘em. Short parody videos, though, that’s different. That’s done for a laugh. I see those as homages. Not that some of them aren’t lousy, too, but some of them are really funny.
The people behind some of those FRIDAY THE 13TH fan films created the following faux-trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist and never will—but I sure wish it did. Not as a fan fiction creation, but, like, as a genuine film, a collaboration between whoever owns the rights to the FRIDAY THE 13TH movies now and Universal. JASON MEETS THE WOLFMAN.
Okay, so who’d win that fight that will never happen? We can still hypothesize. I would expect it would go down very much like when the Wolfman fought Frankenstein (the Monster, not the scientist). Sure, that fight got interrupted before any clear winner became evident, and it was a dead heat (see what I did, there?) until then. But what if that dam hadn’t burst? Honestly it’s too close to call, I think.
