Grimm Fairy Tales presents Werewolves: The Hunger

3060168-01aA long while back I wrote about Zenescope Comics’ werewolf mini-series Grimm Fairy Tales: Werewolves: The Hunger, and now, two out of the three issues are out and ready for your reading pleasure. Thanks to my professor letting class out early, I got a little time to read Issue #1. Check out my thoughts below.

Description:

Werewolves are unleashed on the nexus and it is up to one man to prevent the Grimm Universe from being devoured by a hunger that never dies. Roman, a ruthless and uncaring hunter, is on the tail of a vicious werewolf when he finds himself embroiled in a conspiracy that goes way deeper than any hunt he’s ever been on. Horror and action collide in this new miniseries from Zenescope Entertainment!

The covers are both badass and sexy. That’s the norm for Zenescope. They are known for their sexy. As for the inside art – meh. It could have been better, Zenescope has done better. The work looked amateur. The body proportions were off and the character’s faces looked distorted in some frames.

Story: 3 out of 5
I was disappointed. The backstory was great, but this issue was really cliché and predictable. I don’t have high hopes for the next two issues. You’ve got werewolves, werewolf hunters, and a secret lab that experiments on werewolves. It’s a tad overdone.

Have any of you read this comic? If so, what did you think? If you haven’t, will you?
