Like I don’t have enough things to want to spend money on, now there’s this.
I was never much of a fan of the Garbage Pail Kids when they were just characters on a set of “baseball” cards. (As an aside, I really enjoy how they’re still called baseball cards, when the vast majority of collectible cards today have nothing to do with baseball. It’s the same as with comic books. There are extremely few comics published today that are meant to be comical–I remember my Grammaw always referred to comic books as “funny books”–yet the name persists; in fact, the definition of the word has changed with time.) But now that they’re all getting turned into little Funko minifigures, and a few of them are more creature-like than just gross-out gags, I’ll have to grab up a few of them. The gross-out ones they can keep.
Check out the little vampire and zombie. Ain’t they cute! And then there’s Eerie Eric, the werewolf baby. (Couldn’t they have come up with a better name for him, though? Something like “Lycanthropic Leon” or “Lupine Larry,” maybe?) Beastly Boyd looks rad, too, as does Bony Tony. You’re killin’ me, Funko. Killing me softly, with your limitless marketing of cool stuff, your constant pandering to the geeks of the world, but killing me nonetheless. Please don’t stop.
