Here’s some good news to counterbalance the news this week that plans are underway for a new comedic “reimagining” of a Universal Monster (ugh) with Channing Tatum (ugh) set to star: Robert Englund, Freddy Krueger himself, has joined the cast of STRANGER THINGS for the forthcoming fourth season! That’s so cool that it almost, dang-near almost makes up for Channing Tatum.
Englund will appear in the “recurring role of Victor Creel, a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s”. To quote the great “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Ooooooh, yeeeeaah!”
We still don’t know much about season four, as the tradition of keeping all the deets where the series is concerned close to the vest is being continued, but we do have this to whet our appetites: Hopper is alive and imprisoned in Russia, where “he will face dangers both human…and other” and that “back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”. Excellent.
If a tad more good news is needed to counterbalance Channing, we also learned this past week that work is underway on DEADPOOL 3 (Not a Horror movie, but who cares? It’s Deadpool!) and a new PREDATOR movie!
