Submit it for your consideration: the premise of a Horror movie. The members of an orchestra are left stranded in a centuries-old castle due to a global pandemic. The castle is haunted. And it is surrounded by packs of wolves. You’d go see that movie, wouldn’t you? I sure would, unless I found out it was directed by Michael Bay. Here’s the thing, though: it isn’t the set-up for a movie. It’s realIt’s real. It’s really happening, right now, to an orchestral group from Bolivia. The group had traveled to Germany for a tour of performances. Then the ‘Rona hit and Germany declared a quarantine. The singers couldn’t go home, either, because Bolivia closed its borders. The group was forced to shelter in place at Rheinsberg Palace (actually a guest house on the estate) while they wait to go home.
Okay, in our mundane world the situation isn’t that bad. The wolves aren’t starving or rabid. They’ve been spotted but haven’t bothered the residents, nor will they. And the estate has a kitchen staff that is keeping them fed—the residents, that is, not the wolves. But the idea, the set-up, is too good *not* to be turned into a movie! Hmmm. Maybe *I’ll* write the screenplay.
