Felicia Day in SyFy’s ‘Red’
Unfortunately we have a while to go before this flick comes to our TV. Syfy’s recent press release says that ‘Red’ won’t premiere until 2011. Lame. But at least we’re getting a new werewolf movie right? Syfy also announced that the sexy redhead, Felicia Day, star of ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog,’ ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ and ‘The Guild,’ will be the star of ‘Red.’
Here’s what Syfy has to say about Red’s plot: “In the action-packed Red, Red (Day) brings her fiancé home, where he meets the family and learns about their business – hunting werewolves. He’s skeptical until bitten by a werewolf. When her family insists he must be killed, Red tries saving him. Red also stars Kavan Smith (Stargate Atlantis) and Stephen McHattie (Watchmen). Red is produced by Angela Mancuso and Vesuvius Productions in association with Chesler Perlmutter Productions.”
‘Red’ is actually part of a new Syfy series of original movies all aimed at offering a new take of classic fairy tales and myths. The series launched this past month on February 27 with ‘Beauty and the Beasts: A Dark Tale.’ You can guess what that one is based on. Syfy also plans on adding Aladdin, Sinbad the Sailor and Hansel & Gretel to the list of movies, but it’s ‘Red’ that we’re most excited about.
What do you think of this upcoming flick, will you tune in? It rocks that we are seeing more and more werewolves in entertainment. Personally I think ’Red’ sounds radass, I will definitely be checking it out, and a few of the others Syfy has created. Who doesn’t love horror-filled fairy tales?
