Feeling BLOODTHIRSTY?

We now have a poster (it’s a nice one!) and trailer for BLOODTHIRSTY, due out on VOD on April 23rd. This one looks gooooooood!

Here’s the official synopsis: “Grey, an indie singer, whose first album was a smash hit, gets an invitation to work with notorious music producer Vaughn Daniels at his remote studio in the woods. Together with her girlfriend/lover Charlie, they arrive at his mansion, and the work begins. But Grey is having visions that she is a wolf, and as her work with the emotionally demanding Vaughn deepens, the vegan singer begins to hunger for meat and the hunt. As Grey starts to transform into a werewolf, she begins to find out who she really is, and begins to discover the family she never knew. What will it take to become a great artist and at what cost to her humanity?”

The only thing that makes me wince? I’m tired of the played-out trope of the vegetarian/vegan who starts to crave meat after getting bitten by a werewolf. I get that it’s meant to be ironic, but it’s been done. It’s become cliché. And it’s not necessary. A non-vegan person who suddenly develops a taste for blood is shocking enough. There’s no need to make that person a vegan on top of it. Take the word “vegan” out of the above synopsis and read it again. Works just as well, doesn’t it? And you lose the whiff of unoriginality.

This isn’t enough of a gripe for me for it to be a deal-breaker, but it does get on my nerves.
