Fans Have a Long Wait for Maggie Stiefvater’s ‘Forever’

Maggie Stiefvater is the author of the incredibly popular young adult werewolf trilogy “Shiver,” so popular in fact that fans of the series are dying for news of the next book in the series, “Forever.” Well Dear Readers, I have news, but sadly it’s not great news. “Forever” won’t hit bookstores until July 12, 2011! That’s a ridiculously long wait for any book fan. Lame.

Check out the “Forever” details:

“The conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy. In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. In Linger, they fought to be together. Now, in Forever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.”

You can find more info on Maggie Stiefvater on her official website. I highly suggest checking out her blog, the lady is so quirky and hilarious! Love it!

For those of you new to the world of “Shiver” here is a look at the first two books:

“For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl.”

“This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one. Just a few months ago, it was Sam who was the mythical creature. But now it is spring. With the heat, the remaining wolves will soon be falling out of their wolf pelts and back into their human bodies. Sam stays Sam, and Cole stays Cole, and it’s only me who’s not firmly in my own skin.”

Any “Shiver” fans here? If so, what do you think about the super long wait? Are you excited for the final book in the series? Let us know in a comment below.

  1. I agree that the long wait is annoying but think about it. Shiver takes place during the winter and thanks to the blue ink, I feel like it’s winter outside. The smae thing with Linger but with spring. Maybe she’s having it come out at that time because it’s going to take place during the summer and wants us to feel the heat as we read. I’m not for sure though so correct me if I’m wrong.
