Dissecting the STRANGER THINGS Poster

I really have no idea why there are two S’s in “dissecting”. If you say “bisecting” you only use one S. In truth “dissect” ought to be pronounced diss-ect. As in “diss”, as in to be disrespectful.

We are most certainly *not* going to diss the new poster for the forthcoming (and long anticipated) fourth season of STRANGER THINGS. There’s nothing to diss because it’s fantastic. In addition to some Mindflayer-esque tentacles and some Demo-bats (the logical next step in the evolution of the Demogorgon is that it develops the ability to fly), and of course the cast prominently displayed (including Lucas with his cool new Kid ‘n Play hair, which is something of an anachronism because that hairstyle didn’t really kick in until the early 90s). The most striking visual, though, and by far? Freddy! Yeah, sure, Robert Englund is playing a character called the Vecna, but come on. Look at that poster and tell me you don’t see Freddy Krueger. (I can’t remember if Freddy had blue eyes or not. Robert Englund’s eyes are blue or green, so he probably did at one point.)

Also the Creel House looks a lot like the house in IT. The Horror nostalgia is just beatin’ me over the head with this poster. Let’s just hope the new season lives up to its promise. (I’m betting it does.)
