Digging Into Blind Frog

Okay, so here’s the skinny from someone “in the know”. I won’t reveal my source, but trust that this information comes from someone I believe to be credible. Here goes.

There apparently is a cave system underneath Blind Frog Ranch, just as is depicted on the television show. And there is a tradition of lore surrounding those caves, that there might be hidden treasure therein. Either this treasure was brought there by the Aztecs, as the show proffers, or else it was placed there by Mormons. Those are the two most popular versions of the story. Also the claims that the land and/or the treasure is cursed is not of recent vintage but is decades old or older.

That Spanish coin they found back in season one was fake. The finding of it was fake, that is, not the coin itself, which might have been a real coin or might have been fake. But some time before filming started on the series, a real coin was allegedly unearthed in the same basic area. They just recreated the experience for the TV show without bothering to mention that they were filming a re-creation.

There is a longtime tradition of strange occurrences associated with the site. This isn’t surprising, considering Blind Frog Ranch is only some 25 miles from Skinwalker Ranch. It would be silly to think the phenomena confines itself to the borders of Skinwalker Ranch. The whole area has a history of strangeness.

The owner of Blind Frog Ranch has been telling the story about finding that dead woman in the car at the gate of the ranch for years. It may or may not be true, but the story itself is not new, the way the show makes it seem. If it ever happened, it did not happen recently.

Something did happen during the filming of the series that rattled the film crew so badly they were threatening to walk off the job.

So the events depicted on the show may or may not be legitimate, but there is legitimate history at the site. I suspect the show is at least 50% bullshit, but the land on which it is filmed does have a paranormal pedigree.
