Brickenstein!

There’s this 80s Rom-Com called RHINESTONE starring Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone. I just so happened to catch it on the telly one weekend afternoon when I had the box on for background noise. It’s abysmal, but also a little endearing. Sly is so bad in it that he’s adorable. The plot involves Dolly, a Country-Western singer, taking a bet that she can turn cabdriver Stallone into a Country star. Can Sly sing? Nope. There’s this one song he attempts, called “Drinkenstein.” (Or “Drinkin Stein”.) “Oh Budweiser you created a monster,” it goes, “and they call me…Drinkenstein!” That song is now running through my head, only I’m replacing the title with “Brickenstein”. Look it up on YouTube if you can find it and join in the mental singalong with me. You’ll hate yourself, but you’ll kinda love it, too. Here, I’ll do it for you. Click here to hear it. No need to thank me.

Brickenstein is a Lego BrickHeadz figure set to go on sale in the near future. If it does well it could lead to the other classic Universal Monsters getting figures. It’s adorable, like Stallone trying to sing in RHINESTONE, and I have to have it. Just take my money already.
