Breaking Dawn: Part I Coming Soon to DVD and Blu-Ray

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray just in time for Valentine’s Day, because you know, nothing is more romantic than watching a chick give birth to a vampire baby. Yeeeah. The two-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray are set to be released Saturday, February 11, 2012. I’m sure all of the Jacob fans here are thrilled to spend V-Day with their shirtless wolf.

For those of you who don’t obsessively keep track of Twilight DVD dates, Breaking Dawn: Part 1 is being released on DVD a month earlier than the previous Twilight movies. There’s a reason for that, and it is actually because of Valentine’s Day.

“We thought the fans would love to spend Valentine’s Day watching Bella and Edward’s wedding and honeymoon. It’s really the most romantic of all the Saga films,” said T.J. Moffett, Summit’s EVP of Home Entertainment Marketing.

That’s some pretty clever marketing right there. I know what loads of ladies will be getting for their Valentine’s gift this year.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray are packed with an assortment of extra features, including fast forward features to your favorite Jacob and Edward scenes. Other features include Bella and Edward’s Wedding Video; audio commentary with director Bill Condon, and a 6-part “Making Of” documentary that goes behind the scenes of the most talked about film of 2011.

For those that need a refresher, in the highly anticipated fourth installment of The Twilight Saga, a marriage, honeymoon and the birth of a child bring unforeseen and shocking developments for Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) and those they love, including new complications with werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

Who here is picking up Breaking Dawn: Part 1 the day it’s released? Anyone going to have a Twilight marathon on Valentine’s Day?

  1. I saw the film in theatres and I almost fell asleep if not for Spoony’ mega V-LOG on Breaking Dawn playing in my ears. I’ll pass on buying this until the RiffTrax come out for it.

  2. I won’t be buying it. I saw it in theaters with a friend and some of her friends and I was the only one capable of seeing it without self-medication (meaning alcohol).
While it was good in terms of visual images the story was nearly as lame as in the book (they had changed alot so there were differences).
