Bloodlust by Rachael Anne Edwards

Since I am always on the hunt for good werewolf books to share with you guys I decided to do something a little different this time. Instead of searching on Amazon, I did a werewolf search on Lulu to see what goodies I could find there. Lulu is a company for authors to use to self-publish their books, which means that most of what you find there are unheard of books by first-time authors. The majority of them are terrible (which is why a real publisher didn’t pick them up), but occasionally you can find some gems there. During my search one book in particular caught my eye, mainly because the cover is by an artist I absolutely love, but also because the story sounds just ridiculous enough to entertain. This book would be Bloodlust by Rachael Anne Edwards.

“If there’s one thing a Werewolf doesn’t want to find in their bathtub, it’s a zombie… Bloodlust, a dark fantasy novel, tells the story of nineteen-year-old Rebecca Daniels. When she was turned into a Werewolf, she thought her entire life would change for good. That was until she found a zombie in her bathtub, and the entire world was overrun by the un-dead. Not to mention she finds herself falling in love with her Pack Alpha when she already has a Mate; his best friend, Hayner. Rebecca soon finds out that surviving isn’t the hardest thing when those closest to her make ultimate acts of betrayal, and the people she loves just continue to die around her. And then there’s that underground society who are trying to abduct Supernatural’s….oh, and she can’t forget the Fairy who’s convinced she’s some kind of Fallen Angel.”

Yeah, clearly it’s a mishmash of every current fad right now – fallen angels, werewolves, zombies and so on, but hell, it could work… maybe.

What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

  1. I’m the Author of this novel, and I came across this! Thanks so much for mentioning it, and if you do try it out, I hope you enjoy!

  2. I have just read this book, and found it an enjoyable read and would like to read the follow on if there is one. Yes the author is a novice but if this is what they are producing then there is real promise here.
