BIG LEGEND and SWAMP THING

I love me a good Bigfoot movie, and there have been some great ones. ABOMINABLE, WILLOW CREEK, EXISTS, and the granddaddy of them all, THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK. Will BIG LEGEND, due out this summer, take its place among them? Check out the trailer here, courtesy of the fine folks over at Bloody Disgusting, and decide for yourselves. It looks promising.

Also promising is the news that James Wan, the gifted young director who gave us the original SAW as well as the INSIDIOUS and THE CONJURING franchises, will be overseeing a new Swamp Thing TV series. I grew up reading Alan Moore’s run on the SWAMP THING comic book series—I was waaaaaay too young but my parents had no idea—it was a COMIC BOOK after all, right, so it had to be okay—and yes, it does explain a lot about me, doesn’t it?—I saw the movie by Wes Craven when I was a wee bairn, and I’ve always had a special love for the character. A new series, with Wan in the driver’s seat? Hell to the yes, please!

The BAD news is that I won’t get to watch the new series until way after it comes out, because I don’t livestream. (CAN’T livestream, due to my geographic location in the middle of the Guanacaste rainforest of Costa Rica, where such services are not available.) I get to wait for the release on DVD. Whoopee.
