werewolf, werewolves and lycans

Based on a True Story!

A couple of true stories, actually, with a little creative license thrown in.

“Cletus Cobb, Jr. versus the Alabama Booger”, a short audio drama written by yours truly, was featured recently in the podcast Rocket City Radio Hour by Theater Huntsville, hosted by playwright Benjamin Shapiro. (No relation to the conservative windbag of the same name.) It features my friend, actor Todd Hess, as the title character, a good ol’ boy who has an unpleasant run-in with the Alabamian equivalent of Sasquatch, the oh-so-cleverly named “Booger.” I’ve been told it’s funny. There’s some other really cool stuff on the podcast, too, so I hope you’ll check it out. It’s free.

As for those true stories, I knew a guy, a redneck who got sentenced to house arrest for possession of enough dynamite to level a city block without a license. He lived in a single-wide trailer way back in the woods. Then I’d heard about this redneck in another state who’d had an encounter with Bigfoot, but because of his history of being a drunkard the police wouldn’t believe him and refused to come to his aid. I combined the two stories, basing the character of Cletus Cobb on several individuals I’ve known in my life, and one or more to whom I may be distantly related.
