Another List of the Greatest Werewolf Movies of All Time
Every time I chance upon one of these kinds of compilations, I have to stop and read it, just to make sure the compiler got it right, or didn’t get it too wrong. Usually they’re not too far off the mark. Let’s get to it, then. First, lemme spoil their list for them by repeating it, thus saving you the trouble of reading their article. (Unless you want to, I mean. I don’t mind. I’m not the jealous sort. They do have lots of pictures, so there’s that.) Their 25 GREATEST WEREWOLF MOVIES OF ALL TIME (in descending order): CURSED. WOLF GIRL. BIG BAD WOLF. BAD MOON. WHEN ANIMALS DREAM. WER. LATE PHASES. I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF. FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN. THE WEREWOLF VERSUS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN. NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF. WEREWOLF OF LONDON. CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF. UNDERWORLD. WOLF. WOLFEN. WOLF CHILDREN. TEEN WOLF. THE COMPANY OF WOLVES. GINGER SNAPS. DOG SOLDIERS. SILVER BULLET. THE HOWLING. AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. THE WOLFMAN (1941 version).
Okay, anybody wanna take a stab at the one glaring mistake that made me do a spit-take? If you guessed that it was the placement of CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF so low on the list, you’d be right. Number THIRTEEN?! What in the hell were they thinking?! (They also rated WEREWOLF OF LONDON at fourteen, which resulted in another spit-take. They ranked these undisputed classics lower than TEEN WOLF and WOLF? Seriously?)
